Thank you for reading, Rebecca, and for your kind words š Your own writing is sensational, so to receive comments like this from you is beyond humbling. I had no idea that writing fiction would be like this - that the story and characters would lead the way and I would only need to follow where they want to go. Mira is doing what I wish I could xx
Emily, Amazing!! You are such a talent. These are important messages to get out there and story is often the best way to deliver. It's a story that clearly wants to be told, as you say, it's taken on a life of it's own. And you are giving birth to it! Thank you. It resonates for many reasons. We have just had a large community meeting here regarding Contact Energy ( a power company- wanting to lower Lake Hawea's level by up to 6 metres. This will have catastrophic effects and impacts on our community, not to mention the quality of the lake and the life that lives in it. Keep writing Emily!! Have a great day. xxxš
Goodness Jo, noooooo. That makes me so angry and sad to read. I hope that you and your community fight it all the way. I have just been for a walk in Derbyshire while visiting with my mum, a walk we took last over 35 years ago at Lathkill Dale and the hot dry summer has dried out the river that I remember so vividly as part of that beautiful walk. Thank you for your words about the story, I am so grateful to be friends. Have a lovely day xx
So mysterious and haunting Emily. I am equally drawn into your vivid scenes and the pathos pulsing beneath them. You are a mystic and your words put a spell on me! Iām wondering, do you have a special history with water bears?
I didnāt know much about them at all until I had the idea for the story and was researching moss and lichen and creatures that live in them and on rocks, but once I found out about them, I found them so fascinating. Thank you for such lovely comments - you are so very kind. Much love xx
Emily, oh my goodness!!! I have just listened to your amazingly beautiful narration while taking my very much needed lunchtime break, I am speechless with awe at the way your voice spills emotion not only into the story but into the reader too, the way you have entwined so cleverly fantasy with the very great and important problem of human impact on climate and environmentā¦
This is an achievement I truly hope you are proud of lovely⦠it is so deserving!
I canāt wait for the next chapter !
Biggest praise and love from me ā„ļøxx
I will share later when home and have the time to write something worthy - small voices are calling me! X
I donāt know what to say Susie. You are so kind, always. You lift my soul with your words. I had worried that I couldnāt follow part 2, that part 3 would fizzle and disappoint after the cave, but Mira came through for me and wove more of her story through my heart. I wish that in writing, I could make this a reality, but alas, I can only dream it. šāØ
There is nothing you need to say lovely, your story, as do so many is evolving, everything of beauty takes time!
I hope your Sunday is filled with loveliness, here the rain is torrential, a storm is circling and set for the day⦠Maybe, I will have time to write something, I hope so! xšx
Thank you, always. We have sunshine and a cool autumnal breeze here. I have not long arrived back from visiting my mum in the midlands and I think perhaps I will cook roast dinner tonight after taking a wander in the woods with my Suzie to see if there are more fly agaric there for me to photograph. I hope that your storm is inspirational and the words flow like the torrential rain, sweeping you along with their elemental perfection xx
Oh Emily I just love this! Not only the story itself, and the messages - such important messages - you are sharing through it, but also your beautiful, delicate, descriptive prose. The descriptions of the limpets and the barnacles in particular are just divine! I love that this story has taken on a life of its own, as all the best stories do. Mira is showing you the way. As I read, I saw the story play out in the style of your art, which just added to the magic. And what an honour to see my own name here - honestly, I don't have the words to say what that means! š©µš©µš©µ
