Dear, dear Emily, I am late to reply but I read this days ago and have really thought about that question since.
What do I want? What do I want? Goodness it's a big question... the truth; like you, I want it all but all is nothing without the time to even begin, so there, I suppose I have answered the question... I want time—more time, perhaps, than my allotted days—more time to love and to hold those dear to me, to finish living my own story having paid attention; I want to have felt and seen every moment of magic each day brings, be amazed, sing about it in words that can be so loved they are unforgettable... and not because it was me that sung them but because they were beautiful.
Is that too much do you think...? Hugs always.. 💛xx
It is such a big question, deserving of our attention and care - or should I say we are worth the time to think of our answers? And time - yes please to more of that, and paying attention and seeing all of the magic. Hugs right back to you dear Susie 💕
Emily this is so beautiful 🤍 The desire of wanting to work on so many things at once can be so overwhelming at times, but I always feel that the right ideas pull at us when they’re ready.
Thank you so much Jenna - yes, I try to contain the overwhelm by just enjoying the swirling of ideas, but sometimes it get a bit much. Love what you said about the right ideas pull at us when they’re ready - I agree absolutely.
You navigate the I don’t know with such generative grace Emily. At least that’s how I see it. Each want simply a stepping stone in a spiraling labyrinth that isn’t ever about destination, but look at the treasures the emerge along the way!
Oh Kimberly - how is it that you can see so perfectly and then articulate truth in the most gorgeous way - you are a seer. I am saving this comment to come back to again and again. Thank you, my dear friend. A spiralling labyrinth without destination where creative treasures emerge along the way. Hugs hugs hugs! Xoxo
That’s the thing isn’t it - daring to admit, even to ourselves, what we really want, then daring to believe it could happen, then holding on to that precious belief and not letting anything cloud it.
And what you hold in your heart and truly believe does tend to manifest!
And magic.
When I look at your joyously beautiful art, I feel communication with magic.
The magic of creativity pours out of your every pore Emily.
I read the article by Kit you recommended. Yes we must name it and set the intention, and put it out there so the Universe can get to work at the same time as we do.
“When you want something, all the universe conspires in helping you to achieve it.” from The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho 💛🌟.
Thank you Jo 💛 it’s been a very long time since I read The Alchemist - that quote is so very fitting. Really being honest with myself after reading Kit’s article felt quite scary, but now, much less so xx
And I thought I had a very long list of things I still want to do and I feel like I'm losing time like there is no tomorrow!
This so lovely Emily and I think just by making this list known and putting this essay out in the world too, you 'can' bring all this down to earth. You do and are, so much more than you already realise I think.
I remember laughing out loud when Kit said that when she spoke to Eleanor and that made me want to do her course so much too!
As I put my contact lenses in each morning, I say out. loud, 'this world is made of magic and miracles and I will see that in every minute I can'. Hold on to those liminal spaces!
What a wonderful way to begin every day, Sally. I think I might need to adopt something similar. The older I get, the more I believe. As for the list of things - I had to stop myself from adding another gazillion things to it 🙈😂 it feels good to have written this, finally - and as scary as it is to have stated plainly what I really want - I’m grateful to Kit for her no nonsense, straightforward advice 💛
To remember there is magic and thanks for inspiring me Emily

I see a crafted miniature labyrinth in your future.
I love this post, Emily.

Thank you Kay - the older I get, the more I realise that magic really does exist✨
Yes, you can do it! A clear vision makes the way to go clearer.
Thank you Klamo 💛

As the OG Roald Dahl said "Those who do not believe in magic will never find it" ✨ So excited for the world you’re making, Em xx
I believe, dear Chloe 💛 my faith in real magic only gets stronger the older I get. Thank you for being here x

As the song says, 'Love is all around'. So is wonder, magic, nature....we just have to open our eyes and see! 😊
Ah yes, Corinne - the phrase magic is all around spins about in my head often, thank you xx
Get it, Emily! I believe in you, one hundred and ten percent. xoxo
Thank you thank you Kendall x send so much love to you xoxo
