Oh, Emily, what a joy! What magic you’ve woven, here. And, what a thrill to be a thread in this tapestry of hope, and friendship, and sharing, and flight. You are a true artist, and alchemist. Thank you.

Hearing this in full, I felt the hush of wings again.

To be part of this murmuration—with all of you—has been one of those rare moments where words don’t just land, they gather. They carry.

Thank you, Emily, for bringing such luminous care to every line and stroke. Chloe, your words were the wind that lifted us. And to Brad, David, David, Rebecca, and Kimberly—what a gift to share this sky with you.

May our birds keep flying.

Emily, Oh my goodness, I sigh and sigh again - this is so beautiful I hesitate to write anything in reply for fear of breaking the incantation of its truth in my clumsiness.

"I put down my pencil. They are finished. Rising, soaring, carried forward on currents of rebellious hope, defiant love and the silent promise that I will not turn away.

They are my birds of prayer…"

Today and for many days to come, you will be my bird of prayer, may your wings touch the sky and be blessed with glittering sunlight, may all the birds that see you gather in gentle murmuring acceptance of your sweet offering - this is divine! Beyond that even...

With love sweet soul - I hope to see you up there... 🕊xx

Thank you dearest Susie - I don't know if it might break the spell to say that I toiled and toiled and toiled over this post, but all the toiling was worth it, I think. It felt so ambitious and forward to ask the other writers if they might voiceover their words, but what a gift it was that they all said yes and sent their voices to join mine. I feel so lucky to have pulled this off!!

I will see you in the clouds, Susie, let us rise wingtip to wingtip, on unseen and ephemeral currents of hope 💛✨

Emily you have really done your homework. I can’t imagine the work you put in to weave these pieces so beautifully together. I feel like Susie, scared to write to spoil the spell of your magic. I knew you were an inspiring artists butI didn’t realise you had so many strings to your bow.

I thank you for bringing this wave of art, community and positivity wrapped into one to me today. Yes we so need these gestures of giving be it small or even tiny, they make the world a much better place.

With love,

Pipp

While the house was yet silent, Emily I settled back into a comfortable chair and surrendered to this orchestration and tapestry, letting myself simply be carried along on a journey you've so very masterfully painted and brought to life. Bravo, dear friend, and bravo, Chloe for offering the glue of your lyrical, narrator's voice. I can't imagine a kinder, more soul-soothing way to begin a day... a river of air, all those voices, kindnesses, intentions, lifting ...flowing outward. Magic.

The Magpie

One summer day

I met the bird

It caught my wandering eye

It danced along a prairie fence

Beneath an azure sky

And beckoned me with no pretense

I chased it through the wispy grass

Worn rough amongst the scrub

Heightening all my senses

Into its world it let me pass

Black and blue with tips of white

Wings like a cape were such a site

Twirling round from post to post

A private dance; my high plane host

My presence was not snubbed

And here I saw a world

So much greater than I’d seen

Before me laid unfurled

Like distant dream

This post is a perfect montage of what I agave sensed recently. Such joy in a community of artists and writers. Extending mutual care and wisdom, nourishment and beauty. I am so very glad to part of this. It has lifted me in ways that are valuable beyond measure. Not long ago I wrote a post about paper cranes, which seems fitting here with the topic. https://susannordin.substack.com/p/100-days-of-thriving-6cc?r=d9afo

Oh, I didn’t listen to the audio (I read this while hiding in my daughter’s tent while she was falling asleep). I’m going to do that today! Thanks! Also, I was wondering if the Birds of Prayer artwork is available as a full print? Otherwise I’m going to get the cards and get creative! I love them SO MUCH.

Was she sleeping in the tent? My children liked to have sleepovers in the tent in the garden, but now my husband built a summerhouse so they can have sleepovers in that in the summer 🥰 I hope you enjoy the audio if you get a chance to listen. Yes, the full picture is available as a print, I just didn’t get round to putting it on the shop yet, I’m thrilled that you like it so much. Let me know if you want me to send you details directly xx

I love tent sleepovers! She was actually sleeping in her bed, but I find the tent more magical and comfortable to sit in while I'm waiting for her to drop off. :) Yes, please send me the details directly! Hooray!
