This was so gorgeous, as is Eirlys! The way you captured that very young feeling that has been with you a very long time - that is creativity, isn't it? And your artwork is beautiful! Glad you shared this one in the post.
I adore your art and I love the way you describe the thought process behind creating a piece - it felt like I got to experience the joy of being creative with you.
I loved listening to you read this. Having grown up in Australia, I'm not familiar with these characters, but I felt transported to a place of wondrous and creative joy.
Emily, this was like a meditative journey into creative inspiration herself. So gentle, I felt her holding my hand and calling me to more creativity in my life as I read your post. It reminded me of a meditation experience I had once when my writing angel, Faith, came to help me to write with more confidence. Thank you for sharing her ❤️ with the world. 😇
This was so so so beautiful Emily! I adored being able to hear you talk about the nature of your creativity and about Eirlys! Such a perfect name! ( I loved the snow spider growing up, it made it feel extra real that it was set in Wales and everyone had welsh names like my friends at school. I even made myself a tiny tin foil spider and kept her in a match box in my pocket as a sort of talisman against all the rubbish and insecurity that school brings up.) How perfect that your Eirlys and her music look like they have been spun from silver gossamer - spiders must be one of natures great artists! I love what you say about not being able to pause creativity/ who you are. It’s easy to think that creativity is just about our professional output especially when money comes into things. This was a gorgeous reminded that creativity is in us and part of who we are wether we get external validation or not and it was just what I needed to hear. Thank you 🤍❄️🤍🕸
This was a beautiful piece to read and really captures the essence of what creativity means to me too. Eirlys beautifully illustrates the magic of creativity and how it shines light into this world. It was really interesting to read your process around creating her. Thank you for sharing.✨
I found you by way of Mika of Musings by Mika. I love your ethos and I love this post.
So beautiful!! I'm so curious, what source do you use for the animation of the twinkling stars?
Such a beautiful piece of writing along with the added bonus of a magical work of visual art ✨ Thank you for sharing ❤️

This popped up on my notes again and it was lovely to reread! She’s beautiful!

I love your work Emily.
My favourite is the fairy/girl holding a heart and looking to the stars and moon- Esmerelda?
Your words remind me of fairies and light ✨

So gorgeously captured, Emily ❤️
Love this so much, Emily! And I just ordered the Wonderous Wayfaring hoodie in grey ~ can't wait to snuggle up in it!
