Dear readers, please....

Would you help me choose?

When I first started writing here, I called it While I Was Drawing.

Because that’s where it all began, with a pencil in my hand, a page before me, and the quiet unfolding of thoughts that followed.

While I am drawing, I can go anywhere, be anything, explore places that only exist in my imagination. I can travel down the rabbit warrens of my mind, through the magical wardrobe or back in time to moments and memories that were gone in the blink of an eye but linger longer on the page.

Drawing will always be home. I’ll always return to it. But over time, this space has become something more.

It’s no longer just what happens while I was drawing…
It’s what happens when I follow the spark…
When I chase butterflies through bluebell woods, build tiny cello music boxes, wander into the wild thickets of creative bookkeeping, make miniature bouquets of flowers, capture frost laced petals through my camera lens and scribble poems and stories when the words alight like birds on the windowsill…

This place has become mercurial and messy and magical.

I have tried to conform, to pick one thing, to niche, to narrow, to focus, to move in only one direction, because apparently, that’s what it takes to be ‘successful’.

But each time I try, it makes me so very sad.

So I’m not trying anymore. Instead, I’m embracing this space for what it is: A patchwork celebration of all kinds of creativity. An antidote to conformity. A place where joy is reason enough.

But now I’d love your help…

✨ I would like to rename this space to better reflect what it has become¹.

Here are the names I’m considering:

1. A Festival of Creativity – a vivid, imaginative world of craft and colour, where fireflies guide the way and creativity takes a thousand joyful forms. A place of wonder, whimsy, and artistic adventure, for the curious, the playful, and the wildly inspired.

2. A Celebration of Creativity – a soulful, reverent gathering of all who create for the sake of feeling alive. Rooted in love, longing, and that deep human desire to leave behind a whisper of our soul. A gentle honouring of making as memory, meaning, and magic.

3. Because Creativity – a declaration and a drumbeat: not for perfection, not for praise, not for winning, just for joy. For play. For the electric thrum of making something simply because it sparks something inside us.
