My enchanted summer moments are getting up early enough to watch the sun rise over Lake Michigan. (Not always by choice. The cats usually DEMAND to be fed starting around 5 am)

That sounds magical Kim. Sunrise over Lake Michigan must be such a serene way to start the day, even if the cats have their own agenda at 5 am! It’s those little moments that make summer special. Thank you for reading ✨💛

This is so lovely, Emily. Like a meditation and a reminder of everything we have to be grateful for in this season combined. I love hearing you read it too. Xx

Miranda, thank you so much for your kind words. It means so much when our words resonate with others, I’m so grateful to know you, even just a little. It felt like the perfect way to capture the spirit of this season. I'm so happy you enjoyed hearing it too, I have started to enjoy recording the voiceovers and I had to find a way of immortalising the absolute magic of the blackbirds and the wren feeding their chicks in the shed. I feel so lucky to have witnessed it 💛✨

I’m grateful to know you too, Emily. I recorded my first voiceover this week. It was weird but I’m going to keep doing it. Reading out loud helps me hear the rhythm of my writing more clearly which helps with editing.

I feel like summer has passed me by this year. I’m not sure where it went. It’s so lovely to read/hear you in the moment of the season—it’s a really powerful reminder to just be IN the season.

I write more like me when I write with the voiceover in mind, some phrases feel differently when voiced, than when I read them in my head. And you’re so right, it’s very helpful either way editing! I’ve picked up and corrected a few typos that way 💛✨

That's a lovely way of putting it "I write more like me". Kind of like David Sedaris who edits his work after a reading based on how it felt and how people respond.

Emily this is so beautiful. One of my favourite posts of yours.

"The time will come" indeed. NOW is all we ever have. And what a wonderful enriching way to immerse yourself. xx❤️

Thank you So much Jo, that means so much. The phrases just seemed to arrive from elsewhere, as I reflected on the beautiful moments and wanted to somehow capture them. I’ve had the pieces of this letter drifting in my mind and in snippets on my phone for quite a while and your own letter with the quote from Ram Dass resonated so strongly. Thank you always, for reading ✨💛

Kim, thank you so much. My mum keeps telling me how she’s started a diary to keep track of what’s happened each day otherwise she forgets, and it’s so true isn’t it!? Life continues and sometimes we forget what magic there is in the small moments. Thank you for reading ✨💛

Emily this is so rhythmic and your voice is lovely and calming. I love the ebb and flow picture you portray of the daily essentials none of us can get away with ignoring for long and slowing down to notice and delight in those special moments, to be wondered by nature. Thank you for sharing 🌼

I am called and serene and ready for round two!! 🙏🏽💛xxxx

Dear Susie, I’m so glad, I’d been capturing little snippets of moments through the summer thinking I’d share them each month and then never did. I saved them unknowingly to share now, in this moment. I hope that round 2 was more easeful for you. Sending love across the channel and wishes for a peaceful evening ✨💛

I loved reading and seeing your enchanted summer moments. For me: sitting in the kitchen door, watching the dog dig holes in the garden while I enjoy the last rays of the sun while it goes down. Taking a morning walk and seeing rabbits enjoy their breakfast.

The juxtaposition of mundane tasks with moments of pure enchantment is a beautiful reflection of life's rhythm. It's a dance we all participate in, often without realizing it. Your words remind us that even amidst the ordinary, there's extraordinary beauty to be found. It's a matter of perspective, of choosing to see the magic that's woven into the fabric of our days.
