Oh Emily, you make Halloween sound so very enticing! And yet, I have never found the magic... even as a child I never joined in and here, perched on my hill as I am, there are no trick or treaters arriving at my door, only the tiny pipistrelle bats know that the day is made for mystery.

I love how you describe so beautifully the changing of the season "As autumn arrives, the world around us begins its own spellbinding transformation. The chill in the air lifts the hairs on my arms, and the leaves murmur with secret incantations carried in the wind. They blaze in shades of crimson, amber, and gold, a fire spreading through the treetops, casting an enchantment over the landscape." all this I feel with every sense I possess! Enjoy every second... sending love and happy Halloween wishes! 💛xx

Thank you so much for your beautiful words Susie ✨they are so poetic, I can almost see the pipistrelles dipping and weaving under a star-sprinkled sky, the perfect quiet witnesses to the mysteries of Halloween. I think magic has its way of finding us in those quiet, unnoticed moments too. Wishing you a beautifully haunting season too, filled with a little magic of its own. Much love and Halloween wishes right back to you💛xx

Ooh I can smell and feel your letter this week. Love it, Emily.

The cool dusk air, the glow of candlelit pumpkins, the aroma of firework trails in the sky.

You have welcomed in wonderful nostalgic memories of Halloweens gone by. Thank you.

Fabulous poem as well.

Thanks so much Janelle. I’m so glad my words brought back those nostalgic Halloween memories for you. There’s something so magical about those little details, cool air, flickering pumpkins, and the smoky traces of fireworks, that weave the season’s enchantment. I’m thrilled that you enjoyed the poem as well; it was a joy to write. Wishing you a Halloween filled with all those cozy, nostalgic moments! 🎃✨

You have described this time of year perfectly. It is enchanting in its transformation from summer to winter. I love that each season has its distinct feel, but with fall, there's an anticipation of something mysterious that always thrills me.

Thank you so much. I completely agree, autumn holds such a unique charm, with that sense of mystery stirring as the season deepens. There’s something thrilling in the way it transforms, like a gentle nudge towards winter’s quiet magic. I’m so glad the post resonated with you, capturing that anticipation. The way you describe autumn's transformation, the leaves 'blazing' and 'casting an enchantment,' is just beautiful. It reminds me that there's a certain magic in impermanence, in the way things change and evolve. We often resist change, but maybe embracing the ephemeral nature of life is where the real enchantment lies.

Thank you Alexander, I love how you put that, ‘a certain magic in impermanence.’ There’s such beauty in the fleeting moments, isn’t there? Watching autumn’s colours blaze and fade is a reminder that transformation holds its own quiet magic, even as things change and pass. Embracing that feels like a spell of its own, one that lets us see the wonder in each season. 🍂✨ thank you for reading 🍁🍂

"What is real and what is imagined blur, we cast our spells of creative magic with needle and thread, facepaints and brushes, glitter and glue."

Love this description Emily! And it makes me immediately think of Day of the Dead, or the Hungry Ghost Festival in Chinese culture, which is the time when the line is so blurry between the living and dead that we can communicate and connect.

Autumn 🍂. It’s always been my favourite season - it’s inherent drama and atmosphere - thunder and falling leaves. Still, crisp, sunny mornings and brooding skies. And to top it all, what better event than Halloween to encapsulate it? Enjoy!
