In a slightly surreal twist, we find ourselves co-owners of an indie publishing company, with less than a week until our first book is officially launched. This is the tale of how it came to be.

Ok, I'll look for it. I'm not sure I'll be able to buy the book. We, here in Belgium, have to pay import taxes for things coming from the UK... Not happy with that!
I did some research. You are right, the book is under the threshold for import taxes, BUT... If one buys at an "unofficial" (whatever that means) shop you need to pay VAT. For books that's 6%. Not so bad. And there is a handling fee. That is at least 24,00 euros. And of course there is a shipping fee. Why? Why? I just want to buy a beautiful book!
