"This is Halloween, this is Halloween,
Halloween, Halloween, Halloween, Halloween". Pictures and poems and photos and fun.

I love the spooky season…
I love the magic and mayhem, the dark nights and bright moon, the crisp cold and cozy warm.
And to my absolute delight, I share this love with my beautiful friend Lydia, who has this to say…
October
The sun has set on summer October’s come to call The crops are ripe for harvest And leaves begin to fall The air is crisp and bitter The evenings dark but clear So snuggle up in blankets As the colder nights draw near Acorns are finders keepers Its time for conker fights Carve your jack o’lanterns Put them out and set alight As All Hallow’s Eve approaches watch the skies from east to west For October is the month That we witches love the best

My earliest memory of Halloween is of my mum, making a poster out of old wallpaper. She painted a sunset sky in a vibrant gradient of reds and yellows and oranges and added cutout silhouettes of witches on broomsticks and bats and cauldrons and black cats on roofs. It was awesome.
I have lost count of the number of pumpkins I have carved over the years. I have painted faces with skeletal masks, zombie miens, wicked witches and werewolf scars. I have made spooky decorations and spookier costumes. I even tried a pumpkin spiced latte once.
When October comes to call, I am waiting, ready to climb up into the loft to find the severed hands and skeletons and skulls, my potion book, tall black hat and broomstick…
Halloween
Come out, come out my dearies All Hallows Eve is nigh With spells and tricks, your best broomsticks Soar up into the sky Fly high, fly high my dearies And cackle loud and long Call out black cats and vampire bats with your haunting song Brew fast, brew fast my dearies Keep your cauldrons hot We've just one night to serve a fright Add spiders to your pot Look up, look up my dearies The moon is full and white The ghosts and ghouls and grey werewolves Are roaming free tonight Be gone, be gone my dearies Before the sun doth rise Hide your power past the witching hour Cast your human disguise

Loved the poems!
This is wonderful, the poetry has such a fun song-like, spell-like quality.
