Wow! That's incredible Emily, I thought they were photos to start with, the detail is just unbelievable. I love the video too, so clever 🌟💚

Thank you Sarah! They take quite a while and I haven't had the time to do any recently, but I love doing them when I do get time.❤️

Thank you so much Susie, happy Sunday to you too love. I do sketch the outline and placement of main features, but they're so faint they don't show up on the video!! 🐾🐾🐾

I’m still so impressed Emily... xx

Emily, I'm astounded how you can accurately complete entire sections of a drawing at a time without building up the whole. How the heck do you do that?

Thank you! I do sketch in the outline first, include the placement of eyes and nose and other main features, but it's so faint it doesn't show up on the video. I have to work from top right to bottom left in sections as I'm a lefty. Many years ago, I did a weekend drawing course with an absolutely phenomenal fine artist who taught that technique of building up each section a piece at a time. 🐾😊

I'm mightily relieved to hear you do sketch in the outline. Even so, your ability to define shading piece by piece is mind blowing. 🤯

Beautiful, such detail and I can’t believe your accuracy ! What brand/sort of pencil do you use ?

Thank you Sue 🤍 I use Mars Staedlter mechanical clutch pencils and mainly 2B to 6B leads. They have good grip and as it’s just the lead that’s sharpened, the weight remains consistent.

Wow! Emily this is stunning what a beautiful piece of art, soundtrack included! You should think about entering it to an art show. ✨

Thanks so much Claire ❤️ They were all drawn as gifts or on commission so I don't have them anymore (apart from Sprocket, as he was my dog). I get the heebie jeebies thinking about art shows and competitions so tend to avoid thinking about them 🙈

Thank you Kim 🤍 it’s been a while since I drew one of these, but I thought I’d share a new video since Substack have added the new video format for everyone 😊
